Q. Where is your office located?
A. The Parks & Recreation Department is located inside of the Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices located at 47275 Sugarbush Road (North of 21 Mile Road and South of Cotton Road) - GOOGLE MAP
Q. What are your office hours?
A. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM.
Q. How can I obtain a program brochure?
A. Program brochures are currently being sent out three times a year in May, August and December. They can be picked up at the Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices, the Chesterfield Township Library, or can be downloaded from the Home Page of our website. Brochures are also mailed to all residential addresses within Chesterfield Township.
Q. How can I register for a program or special event?
A. Registrations can be done three different ways. In person at the Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices during normal business hours, Mail-In by sending the registration form and payment to: Chesterfield Township Parks & Recreation, 47275 Sugarbush, Chesterfield, MI 48047 (only payments made by personal check or money order will be accepted for all mail in registrations), or online by visiting http://parks.chesterfieldtwp.org. We also have an after hours drop box located outside of the Municipal Offices. Drop box registrations will be processed when received by Parks and Recreation staff and may not be processed for several days. (Drop Box registration payments must be made by personal check or money order.
Q. Can I register for a program over the phone?
A. At this time, we do NOT accept phone registrations.
Q. Do you take credit cards?
A. We currently accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover during normal business hours with the cardholder present and by showing proper identification. Beginning on June 13th a 3% fee with a minimum of $2.00 will be added to all credit card transactions done in person. Our online transaction fee of 2.5% with a minimum of $1.95 will remain the same. When using online registration we accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Q. Is there a service charge or convenience fee for using online registrations?
A. Yes, there is a fee associated with registering online. There is a 2.50% fee added to the payment amount with a minimum fee of $1.95. For example, if you are registering for classes and your total fee for the classes is $100.00 you would be charged 2.50% or $2.50 for that transaction. Or if you are registering for a class and the fee is $50.00 you would be charged the 2.50 which is $1.25, but since the minimum fee is $1.95 you would be charged the $1.95 for that transaction. Please note that convenience fees are NOT refundable.
Q. Can non-residents register for your programs?
A. Yes. Non-residents pay an additional $5.00 per person, per program (excludes amusement park ticket sales). In the case of bus trips & special events, the $5.00 assessment will be per ticket. For our more popular programs residents are given priority registration. Resident and non-resident registration dates will be found in the program brochure, under the program description, when necessary.
Q. When is the last day I can register for a program?
A. Do not delay in registering for a program. Registration deadlines vary from program to program. Many programs have limited availability and fill fast. Conversely, nothing ruins a good program quicker then everybody waiting until the last minute to register. Please register early to avoid program cancellations.
